Sediment Pond Surface Drains

pictureA Skimmer is a passive dewatering device that withdraws water from the surface of a sedimentation basin. Located at the outfall end of the basin, it gradually “skims” and discharges the highest quality water from the basin through the outfall pipe, allowing the sediment to further settle.

Skimmers are now required on most erosion control plans and have become an essential part of the Best Management Practices for Sediment Control.

Multi-State DOT Approved
